REGIONAL SALES MANAGER
Reports to: Director of Sales
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for overall sales management within an assigned geographic area. Major responsibilities include region development, with emphasis on growing the key customer base, and working with all sales channels to focus on profitable growth. Must work independently and effectively to develop sales strategies in support of specific region and overall company goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify new customers and programs to grow the customer base.
- Select and evaluate external Sales Representation organizations within a geographic territory.
- Oversee and manage Sales Representatives and Distribution. Provide groups with necessary information and technology advances to satisfy all customers’ needs.
- Develop strategic intelligence network with Sales Representatives and Distribution to keep abreast of new product development activity, pricing alternatives and changes, key account activity and areas of opportunity.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining rapport between Cinch management, manufacturer’s representatives and distributors through meetings, training and account coordination.
- Develop and maintain successful working relationships with Independent Representatives, Distribution and customer decision-makers within the Region.
- Prepare and deliver customer specific sales presentations and product demonstrations.
- Provide detailed business plans focusing on defining the scope of the opportunity, timing deliverables and profitability. Develop a competitive analysis to demonstrate “how will we win”.
- Propose and execute sales and pricing strategies to ensure a competitive advantage.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree – concentration in EE or ME is a plus.
- 5-10 years experience in Sales Management
- Proficient in ERP systems and programs.
- Travel (50%+, as business requires)
PREFFERED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Connector sales experience and/or working for an OEM component manufacturer.
- Experience in Military/Aerospace/High-end Server Telecom Markets
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to self-direct / manage and work “hands on” in a small, but growing environment.
